Rohan is marching to Dunharrow. Eowyn sister of Eomer is upset because Aragorn has left her. Merry is feeling little sad because he is STILL alone. Later, a messenger comes with a red arrow, an ancient tool that whoever sends the arrow needs help as soon as possible. Theoden King musters all he can, he announces that he will have near six thousand to go to war. While, Merry is dying to go to the war, he wants to do what everyone else was doing, taking action in wars. But Theoden is saying that, no horse and rider can bear him as a burden.
